"I wholeheartedly recommend the experienced team at Eastern Public Adjusters. They more than doubled my settlement."
Kelly S., New York, NY
Eastern Public takes a customer-centric approach to property protection and disaster recovery. We manage our clients’ immediate needs following a loss, and create a plan for recovery that includes a thoroughly-researched insurance claim framed by our expert understanding of insurance industry practice and law. We also consult with clients before losses occur, evaluating their exposure, risk, and existing insurance coverage, and constructing inventories and response plans to ensure business continuity and the most efficient recovery possible.
Our primary work is with businesses, multi-unit properties, and luxury homes, and is backed by founder and certified Public Adjuster Brian C. Evans’ 20+ years of experience in the field.
We are based in New York City, service clients across the Eastern U.S., and our current licensure includes New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, North Carolina, and the US Virgin Islands.
A boutique approach
Unfortunately, in cases big and small, many businesses and homeowners are left under-resourced when it comes to restoring their property or rebuilding their businesses. Though they have insurance, the claims they submit are underpaid and require them to face lengthy resolution processes that leave them at the mercy of difficult-to-understand rules imposed by insurance carriers. Management companies, which often operate with tight profit margins, can be irreversibly harmed by mistakes made due to limited experience in dealing with insurance law and high value claims.
At Eastern Public, whether we are managing the aftermath of property damage or loss, or helping clients protect themselves in advance of one, we consider each client’s situation to be one-of-a-kind. We take care to absorb the breadth and depth of each client’s experience, using innovative technologies and old-fashioned “face time” to develop a holistic understanding of the the clients’ needs and what it will take to achieve full recovery.
From our years of experience in property damage evaluation, we are able to see what even an experienced contractor—and the “independent” adjusters assigned to you by your insurance carriers—cannot.
Highly curated professional network
When assessing the value and recovery needs of your business, property, or home, we draw on our expert network of forensic accountants, contractors, appraisers, lawyers, engineers, industrial hygienists, data researcher/analysts, and more. We offer tenant-survey capability that allows us to assess and/or triage privately maintained and difficult-to-access private spaces. In addition, we have a particular expertise in evaluating and valuing luxury restorations, artwork, and objects of rare value.
Together with the team we assemble for each client, we compile the reams of data required to assign value to both the physical and business losses stemming from primary damage, as well as often unseen sources of secondary damage, such as hidden mold or structural instability. We use this data to craft a claim in language that conforms to your insurance company’s requirements for compensation, as defined by law, and present it in a way that is most advantageous to you.
Proactive communication with clients
Our aim is to deliver a seamless experience to our clients. As we create, submit, and advocate for a claim, we offer 24/7 digital access to a secure progress log which allows you to stay up-to-date at the touch of a button. In addition, we make all our documentation, photographs, reports, and other claim-related evidentiary files available for to our clients. This system allows turn-key access to the materials your attorney would need should your claim require litigation, saving valuable time and ensuring comprehensive documentation of the claim.
At all phases of our interaction with clients, we are proactive in our communication, walking you through the implications of the claim and renovation process and managing communication with others who may be affected, including tenants, building staff, and management.
Commitment to consumer rights
While we are highly committed to our customers and stand firm when representing the rights of the consumer, the staff at Eastern Public maintains professional, courteous, and service-oriented relationships with decision makers in the insurance industry. We have developed a reputation for creating clean, thorough, and trustworthy claims. Brian is proud to serve on the board of the National Association of Public Adjusters (NAPIA) as well as the New York Public Adjusters Association (NYPAA).
The reason we care
We are excited about this work because we know that we bring integrity and efficiency to the field, elevating the standard for best practices and client support. At the same time, we recognize that dealing with property damage and business loss creates situations of intense stress and vulnerability for our clients, no matter how prepared they may be. We are proud to be able to provide bar-setting service for our clients in their time of need.
